Lace up, log your miles, and make history part of your journey!
Join the Run Around the Block Virtual 5K Run/Walk to support the preservation and maintenance of the historic Fort Pitt Block House—the oldest surviving building in Pittsburgh. This 18th-century landmark once stood at the heart of the frontier during the era of Fort Pitt and the French and Indian War.
Participants can run or walk 3.1 miles anywhere, anytime during the event period.
Participants receive a personalized digital race bib, an invitation to the Finisher Celebration September 19th and a limited edition Run Around the Block 5K Finisher Medal.
Every registration helps fund ongoing efforts to preserve the Block House so future generations can continue to experience this remarkable piece of American history.
How To Participate
- Sign Up
- Plan Your 5K Route (run or walk indoors or outdoors)
- Complete a total of 3.1 miles between September 6th and September 19th (miles may be completed in one run or walk or in shorter segments)
- Submit Results - include total time or select "finished" without adding time
- Upload photos into the Participant Photo Album
