Fundraising Ideas/Help

The RINGING IN HOPE: PIG OUT RUN registration site makes it easy for runners to make a one-time donation and/or create their own Fundraising Page to solicit donations from friends and family. By creating a Fundraising Page, runners can announce their funding goal, highlight their unique reasons for selecting a non-profit, and track their fundraising progress. We encourage all our participating non-profits to share these tips with your donors/runners.

CREATE A FUNDRAISING PAGE

When registering for the PIG OUT RACE on the RINGING IN HOPE site, runners have the options to DONATE and/or FUNDRAISE for the participating non-profit organizations. The key to successful online fundraising is to make your appeal as personal as possible. The fundraising page offers space to include personal anecdotes and your unique motivation for running the race. Also, be sure to consistently update your page with your funding progress. Keep your audience engaged and remind them that they are appreciated.

HOLD A SMALL INTIMATE FUNDRAISING EVENT

After you have created your Fundraising Page, you should consider holding a small fundraising event at a local bar, restaurant, or even a backyard barbeque. If you have friends who are also running in the race, ask them to share in a larger, combined event. This often leads to greater enthusiasm and larger contributions.

LEVERAGE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORK

We highly recommend that runners use social media and email to promote their fundraising efforts. This will greatly amplify your message and vastly increase awareness of your commitment. Don’t forget to post the link to your fundraising page on all your social media accounts. This will give your online friends and family easy access to making a donation and help you to surpass your pledge goal.

The bottom line in all this is to keep your potential donors updated and engaged. Let them know that their contributions are making a profound difference in the lives of others. And after the race is over, reach out to all your donors to express your appreciation for their support and how their generosity aided the lives of the disadvantaged and disabled in their community.
