The Race of Hope is a fundraising event, with 100% of all proceeds supporting Hope for Depression Research Foundation. While fundraising is encouraged and all gifts will be ackowledged, there is no fundraising minimum or requirement. Participants are welcome to engage with this special event in a way that is important to them: raising funds for critical research, raising awareness to stop the stigma surrounding depression, or just as a quiet morning of reflection. HDRF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
As part of the registration process, you will be asked if you would like to create or join a team. There are two kinds of teams. FUNDRAISING teams set a goal and raise funds using a dedicated, custom web page. RAISE AWARENESS teams are just for fun and a way to gather your family, friends, coworkers - everyone! - to participate in the Race. After creating a FUNDRAISING team, you will receive the link to your page within one business day, as well as detailed instructions and information to share. You can change your team type at any time by contacting the Race Director.
