In consideration of you accepting this entry, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound and hereby waive or release any and all right and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against the City of Fresno, Event Director, California Classic Events, Talley Timing, Inc, and all of their agents assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives and employees for any and all injuries to me or my personal property. This release includes all injuries and/or damages suffered by me before, during or after the event. I recognize, intend and understand that this release is binding on my heirs, executors, administrators, or assignees. I also authorize the use of photographs or videos that include my image for promotional, informational, or other reasons deemed to be in the best interest of the event.
I certify as a material condition to my being permitted to enter this race that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for the completion of this event and that my physical condition has been verified by a licensed Medical Doctor.
Special Provision for Cyclist:
I am participating in the Classic Century, Metric Century or Mini Metric Century at my own risk and waive all claims of every nature against the City of Fresno, County of Fresno, City of Clovis, State of California Department of Transportation, California Highway Patrol, Talley Timing Inc, California Classic Events, organizers, officials, sponsors, and any other participating agencies with respect to any personal loss, illness, bodily injury or death resulting from participating in these activities. I certify I am over the age of 18 and any minor for whom I am signing this release is over the age of 12. I fully understand the rigors of participation in an event such as this and have knowledge there are risks in bicycling and fully assume all such risks. I recognize part of this ride will be on State Route 168, a freeway, which was not designed for bicyclists and there are hazards of which I must be mindful, including, but not limited to, uneven pavement, guard rails, signs, and drainage grates. Additionally, I recognize I must stay within the designated area of the vehicle travel lanes (not the shoulders of the freeway) while on State Route 168 and obey all directions of the organizer, the California Department of Transportation, and the California Highway Patrol. I understand if I move outside of the designated area on State Route 168, I will be removed from the ride and there will be no refund. Should an emergency vehicle need to pass through event participants on the freeway during the event, I will move to the fast lane of the freeway and allow the emergency vehicle to pass on the outside shoulder. The fast lane of the freeway for this event is defined as the fast lane for westbound motorists that would normally utilize the freeway. There is no late entry or early exit from the freeway other than the designed entrance for bike riders at McKinley/SR 168 and exit at Shepherd/SR 168 and only ride participates with official event bib numbers who have signed this waiver are allowed on the freeway. All others will be considered trespassing on State right-of-way and will be handled in such way as necessary by law enforcement. Should I need to leave the freeway early I can only do so in an officially marked Event SAG vehicle. I realize that I have to be off the freeway at Shepherd/SR 168 by 9:30AM. If I have a maintenance or medical issue while on the freeway law enforcement and event SAG vehicles will be following the event participants. I have prepared myself physically for the bike ride. In participating in any ride event I understand that I am required to wear a helmet and obey all traffic laws. At the time of registration, I will inform the ride officials regarding any relevant medical condition. I also understand that the majority of the California Classic Weekend is held on open roads that include vehicles, other cyclists, potential construction zones and possible livestock. I realize that the CCW has limited control and I agree to follow the rules which govern cycling. I understand that bike riders are not normally allowed on a freeway and are only being allowed on SR 168 from McKinley to Shepherd in the westbound lanes because this freeway is closed by law enforcement for the California Classic Weekend from 7AM -10AM. The participants will be riding on the freeway in a contra-flow direction (riding eastbound on SR 168 in the westbound SR 168 travel lanes for vehicles). I UNDERSTAND THAT I MUST HAVE CROSSED THE START LINE NO LATER THAN 7:05AM AND IF I DON’T I WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PROCEED TO ANY OF THE ROUTES AND I ALSO UNDERSTAND THEIR WILL BE NO-REFUNDS.
For all participants:
I agree and understand if I allow my bib number to be transferred to another person for any reason that I will personally contact the event Director which is found on the contact page of the website to inform the event of the new participant. I UNDERSTAND BY ALLOWING ANYONE TO USE MY BIB WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE RACE IN WRITING WILL CAUSE MY BIB TO BE INVALID WITH NO REFUND AND WILL CAUSE MYSELF TO BE BANNED FROM ALL FUTURE EVENTS RUN BY THIS ORGANIZATION.
I understand that the event will be held rain or shine and that there are NO REFUNDS, full or partial, for any reason. By submitting this entry, I acknowledge (or a parent or adult guardian for all children under 18 years) having read and agreed to the above waiver.
