Spectator and Parking Tips

Parking on the downtown streets in Salida is limited to two hours. Please pay attention to parking signs. Free all day parking may be obtained across the F Street bridge near the start/finish area, and in the parking lot on the west side of Safeway. If those lots are full, on street parking with no time limit is available starting at roughly 3rd or 4th streets.

For safety, to preserve the experience and for fairness, we do not allow crewing or pacing out on the courses. If you want to be out on the course the perfect way to do that is to volunteer to work at an aid station or as a course marshal. We’re always looking for volunteers, and your help is definitely appreciated! To find out more about volunteering, please contact Kristy at rttsalida@gmail.com.

The race finish will take place in Riverside Park, which is located on Sackett Avenue in downtown Salida, off of F, E, and D streets.  This is Salida's most popular park, and is located right by the Arkansas River, with a very popular playground area.  Please note that dogs are not allowed in the park unless they're on the pedestrian paths.  In order to keep our permit in order with the City of Salida, we ask that everyone respects this rule.

All trails and roads remain open to other users, and spectators are encouraged out on the lower trail system to cheer on runners.  Out of concern for participant safety and because the Forest Service has asked us to limit the number of spectators at the uppermost aid station on the marathon course, we ask that spectators do not drive up CR 175 or CR 173 during the event.  There are plenty of great spots to watch the marathon on the lower sections of the course.
