REGISTRATION

Registering is easy. Simply CLICK HERE and select the distance you want to participate in. The “SIGN UP” button will easily guide you through the registration process.

After you register, you will immediately receive an automated email confirmation. 1-2 weeks prior to the event, you will receive confirmation materials via email with specific instructions about the event day.

PACKET PICK UP:  

You will be able to pick up your race shirt and bib prior to race day. Below is the schedule:

FRIDAY 10/4 @ Heroes Pub- 4p to 6:30p -1 Riverview Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401
SUNDAY 10/6 @ Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds - 7a to 8a -1450 General’s Highway, Crownsville, MD 21032

You can pick up a packet for a friend but please have their confirmation email with you to avoid confusion.


RACE TIMING/TIME LIMITS/RESTRICTIONS


The Race for the Dogs in Blue 5K is a chip-timed event. (The 1K walk is not timed) Participants must finish the 5K course in 1 hour.  Participants can run, jog or walk the entire course. Don’t worry, the festival area at the end of the race will be eagerly awaiting you!

Jogging strollers are permitted but are asked to start in the back of the pack.  Wheelchair athletes are permitted but due to safety concerns and street closure restrictions cannot travel faster than the fastest runner.   No bikes, scooters, skateboards or other wheeled vehicles are allowed. 

 
 


ABOUT THE COURSE

START TIME:  8:30am

The 5K course will start and finish at Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds located at 1450 General’s Highway (Route 178) Crownsville, MD 21032.   

THIS IS A DOUBLE LOOP COURSE.  All 5K participants will compete the course map below twice.

If you are able, please pick up your packet at Hereos Pub on Friday.   Those who need to pick up their bib on race morning should arrive between 7a and 8a to complete the packet pick up process.   Runners must be able to complete the course within 1 hour (19:35/mile pace).


RUN WITH YOUR DOG

We invite all participants to complete the 5K or 1K course with the well-trained and leashed dog.  You are responsible for your dog at all times.  Please make sure your canine remains on the leash and under your control while in the fairgrounds and during the after party.    


WATER STOP

Participants are welcome to bring their own water on course with them. We will have one water stop on the course and water at the finish line to keep your hydration up during the 5K. If you need additional on course nutrition such as gel, please bring your own.


POST RACE FESTIVITIES

Stick around for all the post race fun!  Each participant (over the age of 21) will received two(2) complementary beers to toast your accomplishments on the race route and in your fund raising efforts!  We will also have food & beverage trucks and over 30 vendors.
There will be live music as well as K9 demos, police vesicle displays and much, much more.  Plus be sure to enter the Dog Talent Contest for great prizes from our sponsors!

 


THE POST – POST RACE PARTY AT HEROES PUB

Following the race, we will host a short awards ceremony on site at Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds near the finish line.  Afterwards, we invite all participants and their cheering section to join us at Heroes Pub where we will continue to fun and fellowship. Dogs are permitted at Hereos Pub in the outdoor seating area only.
