GRANDEUR PEAK COURSE INFORMATION
First off, RUFA is not for the faint of heart! Completing one or more “laps” is extremely difficult, which is a tribute to the challenge of solving the winter pollution problem
Each “lap” starts and finishes in at the Church Fork trailhead in Millcreek Canyon. From the start line (5,670′ elevation) the route climbs 3.1 miles up the Church Fork trail up to the summit of Grandeur Peak at 8,299′. Total elevation gain per lap is 2,700. A check-point and small aid-station with basic food items and water will exist directly on the summit. Runners turn around and re-trace their steps back to Church Fork to finish their lap.
Single Grandeur Loop Elevation Profile
Is 100 miles in 24 hours possible?
Doing so would involve 16 laps up/down the Church Fork trail and would result in over 43,000’ of elevation gain!
