Avoid the race-day rush by picking up your bib and registration materials ahead of time.

 - Marathon Sports (34 Pleasant St, Northampton) on Friday, May 1st from 4PM to 6PM. Runway participants receive 20% off any in-store purchase during this time! 

- Greenfield Savings Bank (325 King Street, Northampton) on Saturday, May 2nd from 10AM to noon.

Race Day Schedule

The countdown begins on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026. Race day registration check-in begins at 8AM and the the race takes off at 9AM sharp. We recommend arriving early to navigate parking, check your bags, and soak in the pre-race atmosphere without the stress. 

The Course & Awards

This is your chance to really run the runway. Our newly USATF-certified 5K course starts and ends directly on the tarmac, looping through the unique scenery of the airport grounds. We celebrate speed and spirit alike, with awards for the fastest man, quickest woman, and speediest non-binary finishers, along with various age categories. Special recognition for our youngest and most experienced participants!

Our Community

The Runway 5K is a space for everyone. We welcome all participants regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Transgender participants are invited to register as the gender with which they identify; no documentation is necessary.

Arrival & Amenities

For your GPS, use 70 Old Ferry Road, Northampton, MA 01060. Once you arrive, look for our friendly volunteers at the event entrance. We provide a safe, staffed area for bag drop so you can stow your extra layers and reusable water bottles. To keep you fueled, water will be available on the course and at the finish. We’re working to reduce waste, so please bring your own bottle and label it with your name. Portable toilets will also be on-site for your convenience.

Weather Note

We are cleared for departure rain or shine. We always hope for clear blue skies, but we’ll be hitting the pavement either way—so come prepared for takeoff!
