As we (hopefully) wind down from our stay at home practices and after the success of the two previous challenges, we are excited to introduce the SCTS July Challenge.  The July Challenge is simple.  You will be given a check list of 26 items to complete during the month of July.  You can view the list HERE.  Complete 15 of the items during July and earn 5,000 SCTS points.  Complete 20 of the items during July and earn 6,000 SCTS points.  Complete 25 of the items during July and earn 7,000 SCTS points.

When the event is over you will fill out a very simple checklist to alert us of all items completed.  This form will be emailed to you upon completion of the challenge. Please be on the lookout for this form at the end of July.

Please NOTE this activity will be tracked through the RunSignUp Results portal and you will be responsible for uploading your results to the portal (Swim, bike, run workouts only).  You can do this HERE.  We will be verifying data through the South Carolina Triathlon Series Club on Strava.  You will need to have a Strava account to participate and log your miles and time here as well.  You can sign up for the SCTS Strava Club HERE

This event will count towards the final SCTS qualifications for 2020. Please remember - you will want to sign up in the same category as you would a normal on site race to receive credit towards your final series standings.

The SCTS July 2020 Challenge will be your place to share, track and compare your total training miles swimming, cycling and running during the month of July.  All registered athletes will receive a "race" t-shirt in the mail and series points for a minimum level of participation (details above).

While we realize nothing about this is ideal, or exactly how we expected to be "racing" during July of our 2020 Triathlon season, we are also amazed at the dedication of our athletes to the sport and to fitness and we want to make sure your training efforts are recognized and rewarded.  And, we will be perfectly honest, with no revenue coming in for us, we need something to help keep us afloat.  Before you register we want you to understand 100% of any profits made from this event will be going directly to us in an effort to weather this financial storm through the paying of salaries to our employees and the other bills we are still paying.  If you are opposed to this idea we completely understand and ask you not to register.

Scoring - SC Triathlon Series

Series Scoring for this event will be very simple.  Every athlete who completes the minimum number of checklist items as shown below will receive South Carolina Triathlon Series points:

  • Complete 15 items on the checklist = 5,000 points
  • Complete 20 items on the checklist = 6,000 points
  • Complete 25 items on the checklist = 7,000 points

NOTE: You will need to upload each item under the Swim, Bike, Run sections to the RunSignUp results portal HERE.  These results will be verified through Strava or other methods as needed.

Upon completion of the challenge you will be emailed a form to fill out showing all items you completed.  You may also access this form HERE.

Please register under the proper category so your points will be assigned to you in the proper category for the remainder of the race season (Open, Age Group, Clydesdale, Athena, etc).
