Like Running or Walking? Love Wine? This race is for you!
Join us on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 9:00am for an exciting new event that features the 8 acre span of Carlos and Noble Muscatine Grapes and the fantastic local charm of Enoree River Vineyards! With registration options for all wine lovers and runners, this race is a sure thing for a great time and an incredible experience! Registration includes: A race t-shirt, souvenir wine glass, finisher medal and a wine pour for runners 21 and older. Runners under 21 are welcome to participate and will receive a discounted registration during check out that includes a shirt, medal and bib (these participants will not receive a wine glass or a glass of wine). This race will NOT BE OFFICALLY TIMED. Each participant will time themselves and then report their time HERE!
Awards: We are doing finisher medals for all participants so there are no age group medals.
Packet Pickup has been updated to Race Day Only and will open an hour before the event starts.
Want to avoid the lines entirely? You can choose to have your swag items shipped to your home prior to the race for only $10 per person when done with registration. Shipping to your home address is available until 10/10/21.
The race starts and finishes at the winery! The route is on grass and a cross country course featuring the winery! This is not the optimal course for a PR, but it is a great option if you're looking for the most fun you've had at a 5k! Runners and Walkers are welcomed to participate!
The course is 2.5K ~ 1.55M. In order to complete the 5K, you need to do 2 laps. If one lap is enough, then head to the wine station and enjoy your time. Cheers!
If you have any questions about this race, click the button below.
Absolutely! We have been getting many inquiries about virtual participation and have integrated a virtual option into our regular registration.
Please feel free to register through the regular registration link above and you can either:
1) Pick up packet during packet pickup or on the morning of the race, but run on your own (hint: wine ticket is still good if you use this strategy)
2) Contact us at any time to switch to the Virtual Wine Run 5k and we'll ship your packet (no charge for shipping!)
Also, if you intend on running, but later change your mind and would like to do either of these options, that's ok too! If you are definitely going to have us ship your packet and run virtually though, we do recommend signing up HERE
Additional race information can be found at http://www.WineRun5k.com.
The proceeds from this race will support The William C. Blackmon Athletic Memorial Foundation.
The William C. Blackmon Athletic Memorial Foundation was created when we lost Will to a fierce battle with COVID earlier this year (2021). Will was a football letterman at Newberry College and was most recently the President of the NC Athletic Board as well as a member of the Board of Directors. Having been a past football player and with a son currently playing football at Newberry College, a new stadium has been a huge passion of Will's and our family's. Athletes for the past 10 years have been promised a new stadium and it is time to make it happen. Our family’s hope is that the William C. Blackmon Athletic Memorial Foundation can be instrumental in catalyzing the building of a new stadium so that the Athletes at Newberry College, in the near future, can play in a state-of-the-art facility. In addition to brick and mortar, we hope to assist with other athletic projects, as well as provide a scholarship for an upcoming football player.
