Raiders vs Cancer 8K Challenge

The Stevens Raiders Track & Field team will be hosting an 8K run and relay to raise money for our team and the Lemoine Trout Scholarship. Donations from this 8K will be donated to this scholarship fund which students at Stevens High School can apply for to help pay for college. Some of the money raised from this race may also be donated to local families who are fighting cancer (or other illnesses) or to groups such as The American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen, and many, many more.

HERE IS THE TWIST! We have decided to not charge an entry fee for this race. Yes, you could race for free, however, if you choose to run we are asking you to please consider a donation to our cause. We still have a suggested donation which is our race fee but you can choose to take a 100, 75, 50 or 25 percent discount from that race fee. We challenge you, businesses, groups and teams to come join us and help raise as much money as possible to help us honor the late Lemoine Trout and help us in our fight against cancer! Lemoine Trout was a loving father and husband who was a very dedicated teacher and coach in the Rapid City School District for many years. He was the Head Track & Field coach at Stevens until 2002 when he passed away due to cancer. The Lemoine Trout Scholarship fund has given many kids some financial assistance over the years to help with their college expenses at primarily Black Hills State University (Lemoine's alma mater) but many other schools as well. 

The race is scheduled for 5:30pm on April 15. Free Scheels T-shirt to the first 100 registrants (sizes will vary). Your bib number is your ticket for an awesome post-race feed provided by Z-Mariks!

Packet Pick-up & Race Day Registration is on April 15 from 11:00am - 12:30pm in the Stevens High School gym lobby or from 4:00pm - 5:00pm on April 15 at the Sioux Park track.
