FAQs

Where and when do I pick up my race packet?

Pick up your packet with bib and T-shirt on Friday June 12 from 10am to 7pm from Sacramento Running Company. 2673 21st Street, Sacramento.

Race-day pickup is 7:30am to 8:15am.

Bring your ID for packet pick up.

Friends and family can pick up race packets for one another--just bring your registration confirmation.

What's included in the registration fee?

Your registration fees get you a participation medal and a race T-shirt, provided you registered early enough. The T-shirt size can be selected during check-out based on our current inventory. T-shirts are available on a first-come first-served basis! We printed 500 shirts. Your fees also go to race timing & management, permitting, police services, restrooms, insurance, and all of the logistics to make a race fun, safe and successful.

What is the route?

The 5K route navigates through Old Sac south toward the river path to Miller Park where it turns around and comes back. See the main page for a course map.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive by 8:00 AM to grab a snack, warm up, and find your spot. Orange Theory Midtown's body pump crew will be on-site to graciously lead us through a warm up to boost our positive energy! Start times will stagger 1-min apart beginning 8:40 am.

How do I get there and where do I park?

Paid parking is available at three garages within walking distance of the start: Tower Bridge Garage to the south (1289 Front St), Old Sac Garage to the north (125 I St), and West Premium Garage to the east (325 L St). Each is about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the meeting area. Download the ParkMobile app to easily find and pay for parking in Old Sac.

We have dedicated bike racks at the venue, plus bike parking throughout Old Sacramento.

Prefer transit? SacRT’s Yellow Line terminates at Sacramento Valley Station, about a 12-minute walk to the Rail Museum.

What should I wear?

Pride is by nature a festive, bright and fun event. We encourage you to wear a comfortable pair of shoes and to bring your most fabulous costume to match! Participants who dress in costume will be entered into a raffle prize. See more details on the costume raffle page.

What is happening after the race?

After the run we will hold a brief ceremony for the top three finishers in each gender bracket before heading to the Bear & Crown after party in Old Sac (1022 2nd St). Afterward is the Sacramento Pride Fest.

Will there be drinks and snacks?

We will have water stations at the beginning and half-way point for the runners. Simple snacks will be available before the race. Mountain Mike's Pizza on S St will be handing out pizza and beverages after our run, starting about 9am!

Will restrooms be available?

Yes, portable restrooms are available at the starting point.

Is there a foot locker available?

We will not have storage available for your keys, phone, wallet, or extra clothes, etc. Please plan accordingly.

Can dogs participate?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed to participate. Most race insurance policies forbid dogs in their terms of service. Additionally, the logistics of the course make leashed dogs a challenge due to the minimum trail width. Dogs are welcome at the start/finish line.

Can I bring my child's stroller on the course?

Strollers are allowed in the walking corral at the participant’s own risk. Parents and guardians assume all responsibility for the care, supervision, and safety of children riding in strollers throughout the event.

Is the event beginner-friendly?

Absolutely! 5K races are a perfect entry point for beginning runners. You can set your own pace, from sprinting to a casual walk. Hydration stations are available at the start/end of the event.

Is this a family-friendly event?

Yes, all ages are welcomed. Some music may contain explicit lyrics.

Where can my friends, family or the public spectate?

Spectators can watch the race from the start/finish line near Delta King, from Robert Matsui Waterfront Park, or from Discovery Park (5K racers only) near the Jibboom Street Bridge. Spectators should be in place between 8:40 am and 9:30 am.
