Can I get a refund if I decide not to participate after registering?

Sorry, no refunds are available for this event. 

Will the grades 3 through 8 be running together?

Yes!  The race begins at 10:00 am and all students and family members will be running at the same time! 

We ask that walkers or walker/runners please stay towards the back of the starting corral.

What happens if we have inclement weather on race day?

The Viking 5k will be held rain or shine.

If the race director determines that there are unsafe conditions (i.e. thunder, lightning, etc), we will delay the race for up to 1 hour if needed, and then we will determine whether the race will be canceled entirely.

There will be no rain date for the Viking 5k.

Can my older sibling that is in high school come to the 5K?

No.  The high school students have obligations at the high school to fulfill.

Can I bring a stroller and participate in the Viking 5K?

The course is half grass and half pavement.  The course is not "stroller-friendly".  We don't recommend strollers.

Can students bring personal devices to listen to music?

This is at the discretion of the student and their parents.  We are not responsible for any personal devices, headphones, airpods, etc.   

Can my sibling in preschool or grades K-2 participate?

No. The preschool and grade K-2 will be holding separate events for that day and cheering on the 5K participates from the sidelines with their classroom teachers. 

Can a South Bloomfield Elementary student participate in the Viking 5K if their sibling is at West Middle School?

No. This race is open to Scioto Elementary and West Middle School students and family members (who are NOT of school age).
