Seabrook's Rich History
Seabrook’s story began in 1832 when Ritson Morris, a Virginian, acquired land from the Mexican government. Later, Seabrook W. Sydnor purchased part of this land in 1895, lending the town his name and filing a plat with the Harris County Courthouse in 1896. By 1903, the Seabrook Company of Houston developed the town further, attracting farmers, fishermen, and merchants. After incorporating in 1961, Seabrook continued to grow, with a new bridge connecting Kemah and Seabrook in 1964 and the expansion of State Highway 146.
