Story
Who Shannon is
Shannon Larson has worked as a counselor, teacher, and vice principal in his native SETX. He has lived in SETX all his life, believes in the power of prayer, and loves music. To connect with his diverse students he would learn their languages so they could feel more comfortable at school. He is loved by all who have met him and lives every day like it is a gift.
Shannon was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2001. He has continued to battle bouts of brain cancer for over 20 years and is currently at a Grade 4 stage of brain cancer. His story has been such an important inspiration for the running community here in SETX that the 3 Bros Running Company wanted to create their first race to show his plight and bring public awareness about Brain Cancer. Shannon continues to fight the good fight and it is our hope with this race we can educate everyone on what it is like to be dealing with this debilitating disease and raise money via this race to support his non-profit of choice The National Brain Tumor Society.
Portion of proceeds from race will go towards The National Brain Tumor Society and 100 % of Donations will go towards The National Brain Tumor Society.
