Course Description
Slam the Dam is an early evening run that provides a spectacular tour of some of the most beautiful spots in Lake Lure ending with an ice cream sundae social and a refreshing dip in the lake.
This demanding 10K race begins at Ingles Supermarket on Rt. 9, heads east on Rt. 64 and then left onto Buffalo Shoals Rd. where participants cross the iconic Lake Lure Dam. The winding up & down Buffalo Shoals section of this race provides participants with a challenging but gorgeous stretch that finishes on the beach at the Rumbling Bald Resort.
