Description

Join Beck's for our sixth annual 5K run/walk on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Designed to promote health and wellness, Beck's 5K is a great opportunity for you to get OUT and get MOVING while connecting with the local community and raising money for a great cause! Over the last five years, with your help, we've raised nearly $197,000 to benefit Rock Steady Boxing, American Institute for Cancer Research, Team Rubicon, K9s for Warriors, We Care for Orphans Fund, and Safe Haven Baby Boxes. Our event is stroller and fur-friendly, so bring your leashed K9 sidekick to run/walk alongside you!

Packet pick-up will be held Friday, June 6, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in front of Beck's Research Building on the north side of 276th St.

Race day registration and packet pick-up will be available from 6:00 a.m. - 6:45 a.m. EST on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

The 5K Run/Walk will start at 7:00 a.m., followed by the Kids Fun Run at 8:00 a.m. (or immediately following the completion of the 5K, whichever is earlier). Age group awards will be presented around 8:30 a.m.

We partner with Changing Footprints to collect shoes! Bring your shoes to packet pick up or race morning to donate them to a great cause!  Changing Footprints realizes the great need for shoes around the world as protection from diseases and a gateway to education. Because of that need, they collect new and gently used shoes for distribution to homeless, disaster-stricken, or underprivileged people locally, nationally, and internationally regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnicity.

Charitable Recipient

We believe that even in the face of immense sadness, we can find ways to honor the lives that touched us so deeply. In recognition of the enduring love and cherished memories held by those who have experienced the loss of a child, proceeds from the 2025 Beck’s 5K will be benefit the following organizations:

Human Resources Center of Edgar and Clark Counties (HRC) - mission is to promote and conserve the mental health of the people of Edgar and Clark counties. This program provides for telephonic, telehealth, and walk-in community access to behavioral health crisis care services. This service includes crisis assessment and crisis interventions for individuals regardless of insurance coverage.

Indiana Donor Network Foundation - proactively raises funds to support transplant recipients and the families of donor heroes through general contributions, our Angel Fund which supports transplant recipients by helping with the cost of medications, Bryan Clauson Legacy Fund which supports families of donors before, during, and after their loved one's gift of life, the Scholarship Fund for immediate family members of organ and tissue donors, or Threads of Compassion which provides comfort shawls to donor families at the time of their loved one's donation.

Bravely Women’s Health provides the respect and support women need to choose life. The offer an innovative pro-life approach to reproductive healthcare, pregnancy support, and motherhood resources. Bravely Women’s Health is staffed with a team of doctors, nurses, and advocates who help advocate for women through their pregnancy options, while making them feel safe and empowered.  Most of Bravely’s services are free of cost, and every $240 donated helps one woman through her pregnancy decision.

Little Angel Gowns transforms donated wedding dresses into beautiful infant burial attire. Often with the passing of an infant there is nothing to clothe them in besides a simple blanket or shirt adding to the overwhelming heartbreak of the parents. Volunteer seamstresses create handmade garments that are provided as a gift to the grieving family. The organization hopes the recipient family experiences a measure of relief and comfort in knowing their loss has been acknowledged in a most personal way.

Best Buddies is the largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people worldwide with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower people with IDD to form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure jobs, improve communication and advocacy skills, and live independently, while also offering support for their families.
