Yes, dogs are allowed! You can register your dog by choosing the 5K/1-Mile Walk (With Dog) option at checkout. All VIP registrations include an optional dog registration.

• Dogs must be leashed at all times; retractable leashes are not permitted. 
• Each registered dog must be accompanied by one adult (18+).
• Please be advised that there will be shelter dogs and other participants' dogs on site.

·        5K Run: Our 5K course starts at St. Hubert’s, follows the paved walking path on Woodland Ave, runs along Treadwell Ave, and follows the remainder of the paved walking/bike path around the Giralda Farms property back to our campus.

·        1-Mile Walk: Our walk course starts at St. Hubert’s, follows the paved walking path on Woodland Ave, runs along Treadwell Ave, then loops back toward Woodland Ave and follows the walking path back to our campus.

We strongly recommend arriving early, as parking is limited and available on a first-come first served basis. 

• Parking is available along the shoulder of Woodland Ave (between Loantaka Way and Treadwell Ave).
• A limited number of spaces are available in St. Hubert's parking lot (located at 575 Woodland Ave, Madison, NJ). If you park in our lot, you must arrive before or by 9:00 AM and your vehicle will not be able to exit until the race is finished.

September weather typically runs hot! Check out these tips to ensure you and your pup stay safe and cool on the course.

• Hydrate at our water/cooling stations: There will be two water stations along the course and a cooling station at the finish line with plenty of water for humans and dogs.
• Stay in the shade when possible: There are plenty of shaded areas along this route due to moderate-to-heavy tree/foliage coverage.
• Avoid asphalt if running/walking with your dog: Along much of the course route, there are grassy areas parallel to the paved path. If the temperature is high or if the pavement feels hot to the touch, it is strongly recommended to walk/run your dog on the grass rather than asphalt to ensure the health and safety of their paws.
• If the weather outlook predicts extreme heat: We strongly encourage that you leave your pup at home. See our tips for keeping your dog safe in extreme heat here.

Yes, on-site registration will be open from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. on race day. Upon arrival, please follow signs for onsite registration.

Early Pack Pickup - Thursday, September 17

Packets will be available for early pickup on Thursday, September 17 at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center (575 Woodland Ave, Madison, NJ 07940). We encourage participants to pick up their packet early to avoid potentially long lines on race day. 

Race-Day Pack Pickup - Saturday, September 19

Packets will also be available for pickup at the check-in table on race day.

Refund Policy: All 5K-9 sales are final, and no refunds are permitted. But if you can't make it to the 5K-9, have no fear! Your registration directly benefits St. Hubert's lifesaving programs, so you can still make an impact for animals.
