Volunteer - Water Stop
RACE DETAILS: 8:45 5K START / 9:30 10K START / 9:35 WALK START
REPORT TIME: Please arrive at your location at least 30 minutes before the active time detailed below.

DETAILS:
You will have gallon bottles of water and cups. Pour cups about 2/3 full and hand to runners. It’s a good idea to prefill the table with cups of water before the participants arrive.
You will also be provided with garbage cans and bags. Please place them past the water tables to give the participants distance to drink before disposing of their cups. Remind participants that garbage cans are up ahead in hopes that they use them. Inevitably some will throw them to the side. When possible, please pick any up dropped cups that could cause another participant to trip. This should be done only if you don’t get in the way of the participants.
Please keep the area around your table neat. Put cups in garbage bags and crushed recyclable bottles in water boxes. After the race, be sure your area is clean of litter. You’ll want to walk about 50 feet up the road and check both sides of the road, lawns, etc.
When all participants have passed, break down your table and stack your garbage. A truck will be by later to pick it up. You do not need to wait. Lastly, don’t forget to encourage and cheer for the participants. It helps a lot!

*** WATER STOP #3 – In front of 64 Riverview Terrace
This is only used by participants in the 10K and is about 4 miles into the 6.2-mile race.
Participants run between 5:30 and 15-minute miles meaning your water stop will be active from 9:50 AM until 10:30 with the bulk of the participants coming between 10 and 10:15 AM.
Participants will be coming down Riverview Terrace from Township Line Road and heading towards Hillsborough Road. Please set the water station up on the participants left. A silver Jeep Liberty will pass you to indicate the last participant has passed your station.
*** WATER STOP #5 – The corner of Mack and Petrick Farm Road
This is used by participants in the 10K, 5K and 2-mile walk and is about 1 mile into the race.
Participants run between 5:30 and 20-minute miles meaning your water stop will be active from 8:50 AM until 9:10 with 5K participants, then again from 9:35 to 10:00 with 10K and walk participants.
Participants will be coming down Mack Drive. 5K participants will make a left on Petrick Farm while walkers will continue Mack to make a right on Burniston and loop back to Amsterdam Drive. All water stations should be set up on the participants’ left-hand side of the road before the intersection of Mack & Petrick Farm.
Place garbage cans on Petrick Farm for 5K participants and on Mack for 2-mile walkers. A walker with balloons will pass you to indicate the last person has passed your station.
