Dizzy Horse, A Winter Backyard Ultra

*Regular registration includes general heated indoor access for yourself, a DNF award (or winner prize), bathrooms, water access, and a very well-marked 4.167-mile course, we call it "Bareback". You can add additional perks and go "Thoroughbred".

This provides access to the Deluxe Aid Station. Deluxe Aid Station will include lots of standard "ultra-marathon food options", multiple beverage options, including water, coke, ginger ale, tailwind, lemonades, etc., and catered food (at least 2 options at all times, with different options as the event goes on). We will have gluten-free and vegetarian options as well if requested. 

Participants can purchase a deluxe aid station for up to 2 crew members. (NOTE: If a participant purchases this option they can have a crew member pick up food for them, in the early hours the crew member will need a wristband, as the event goes on, and we get to know you, it will be a bit more informal). You will be given a wristband that will give you access to the Indoor Deluxe Aid Station. CREW ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO EAT FROM THE START OF THE HOUR UNTIL THE 30-MINUTE MARK! We want the fresh food available for the runners when they come in. No crew should be at aid station when runners are coming in unless they are grabbing food for their runner. 

Access to the Deluxe Aid Station will continue even if you are eliminated through to the end of the event. (Basically, we want you to stay and hang out as long as you want and cheer the others on). 

This will provide a minimum 10'x10' area inside the Exhibition Hall and near the start/finish. First come first served. There are only up to 15 interior spots available. 

NOTE: If you and a friend(s) are running you can select spots near each other to make a larger area. The space can be used for tents, chairs, tarps, personal aid station, etc. 

This will include interior access for up to 3 people, participants, and/or crew who will also be able to use this space while you are out and about or share cots/tents,  etc.

AC UNIT: Even though the race is going to be cold, we want it to be even cooler!!! Joining the AC Unit is a one-time cost of $20, and once you are in the AC Unit you are in for life! (Color may vary)

Basically, as an AC Unit Member, your job is to go outside and cheer every runner as they come in and/or adopt orphan runners (those without crew) to make sure they are taken care of. 

The $20 buys your AC Unit Scarf. Then at all future Dizzy Horse events, you can earn your own AC Unit pins to put on your scarf. For as long as you are running, crewing, volunteering, or cheering we'll count your effort. So if you are running or crewing you can jump in cheering as soon as you (or your runner) are done. Or if you aren't a runner, but want to be part of the party, you can start from hour 1 and go as long as you want. You can take breaks when needed to go home and sleep/shower/run errands and then pick back up when you return. Bring your own demotivational signs, cowbells, costumes, etc. 

For 2024 we did snowflake pins, one earned every 3 hours of runner support!
