Description
In 2016, The Dogwood Dash marked the first Half Marathon to ever take place in Dyer County as part of the Dyersburg/Dyer County Dogwood Festival.
New this year, is the Athletes Village! This will be a private area designated for only the 1/2 marathon 5k runners and our cyclists from the Pedals & Blooms bike ride event. Athletes will have access to free food including BBQ nachos, pizza, Sonic breakfast burritos, fruit, cookies and more, beer, drinks private seating, men's and women's private tents to change clothes and a Podiatrist on site!
The race proceeds will be split between the YMCA of Dyer County and the Mission Blitz. Below is a little more information about both of these wonderful non-profits.
The Mission Blitz: Since 2007, Community mission blitz has grown to 30 churches and 1000 volunteers with one mission, to serve others in our community by being the hands and feet of Christ. On 1 day each year volunteers come together for projects ranging from light construction to homes in need of repair, yard work, building wheelchair ramps, aiding non-profits with any needs, granting wishes to those bound to nursing facilities, free medical clinic and many other service projects throughout the community. This year mission blitz will be on May 4.
The races will begin at Dyersburg's Farmers Market.
The race will be chipped timed with electronic detection at finish line.
Rocking Inflatables and Party Rentals will be providing inflatables for the kiddos! There will also be delicious BBQ from Chunky Butt BBQ food truck!

Specifically designated to all 1/2 marathon, 5k and our Pedals & Blooms bike riders, they will have private access to their own bathrooms, food, beer/drinks, private seating areas, private men's and women's changing tents and more! We are so excited to put more focus on our athletes this year and make them feel extra special!
