What exactly is a Virtual Fun Walk/Run? 
The Virtual Race is a Walk/Run at your own location/time/pace (on the roads, treadmill, trails, etc.). Everything is up to you and you can choose your own time/course.

What distances are we offering? 
Our virtual event is a 5K (kilometers) Run which is 3.1 miles.  Feel free to run the entire thing or you can even walk the distance! Everyone is welcome to participate! 

Do I have to complete the walk all at once (same day)?
NO. For those who may find completing the 5K challenging (new to walking, in active treatment, neuropathy, etc.) they may break up the walk over several days or even weeks.  All fitness levels are encouraged to participate.

I am unable to walk or run.  Can I still participate?
YES. If you utilize a wheelchair, or prefer to bike, swim, dance, etc. please do so.  Alternate Activities (gardening, housework, etc.) are a fun way to participate without walking or running.  The idea is to get our bodies moving to help reclaim our stamina and health!

What are the important dates to keep in mind?
Our Virtual Race is taking place September 19th, 2026.  Tune in to our Social Media on race day to upload and view pictures, and watch our program highlighting survivors and caregivers.  Early bird registration ends on June 30th midnight Pacific Time.   Register by August 20th to be guaranteed your items.  

Can I register after August 20th?
Yes, however, we cannot guarantee you will receive a race medal and shirt.  For any registering after 8/20, it will be first come first served in that regard so it's best to register by then.  We have to allow time to submit & receive our printed orders (medals, tshirts).  For our t-shirts, if you see a size listed, that means it's still available. If we run out of a size, it will not be listed.

Even though this is not a competitive race, I would like to submit my time.  How do I submit my result?
Please look for the "RESULTS" tab on the race page. Then click on "Submit Virtual Results".  Then look for "Log Activities".

Will we receive a race BIB?
Our Digital Bibs are designed to be printed at home.  Just click on your profile name, make sure you're under the Strides 2 Survive race tab/section.  Click on "View Digital Bib".  Click on PRINT for a physical BIB.  You can also share on social media if you want to show off!

Will I receive any swag for participating virtually?
Registering by midnight August 20, 2026, and select the full registration will be guaranteed an official Strides 2 Survive t-shirt and race medal and additional swag donated by our sponsors.  The MINI - Registration will receive the finisher medal only.   Registrations after August 20th will be first come-first serve until inventory is depleted.  Register early to guarantee your items!

Can my friends or family join me?
Anyone who wants to support you and walk/run with you are welcome to do so.  If they would like to receive their own official medal, shirt and sway, please encourage them to register before August 20, 2026.

Are there any awards?
There are no awards as there is no way to verify all virtual submissions. This is simply a fun walk/run!  

What does the money raised go towards?
ECANA (The Endometrial Cancer Action Network for African Americans) is our event sponsor.  ECANA will use the money to fund their Survivors' Sanctuary Programs which are free.
