Pre-race FAQ


Q: When and where does the race start?
A: 10:00AM at the Pine Pavilion in Carson Park (100 Carson Park Dr, Eau Claire, WI 54703)

 

Q: Where does the race end?
A: At the Pine Pavilion in Carson Park (100 Carson Park Dr, Eau Claire, WI 54703)

 

Q: When and where do I pick up my race packet?
A: There are two options for packet pickup:
     1) Pick up at Hope Gospel Mission (Date TBD)
     2) Pick up on Race Day (5/3 in Carson Park)

 

Q: How do I start a Fundraiser for Hope Gospel Mission?
A: At the end of your Strides for Hope registration, you will be given a link to your own fundraising page. This will also be sent to you in a confirmation email. Send the link to your family and friends, asking them to support Hope Gospel Mission. Thank you for your generosity!

 


Race Day FAQ

Q: I forgot to bring my bib – what do I do?
A: Go to the Pine Pavilion (in Carson Park) and get a new tag.

 

Q: Where is the Start Line?
A: Right next to the Pine Pavilion in Carson Park (100 Carson Park Dr, Eau Claire, WI 54703)

 

Q: Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed?
A: Yes

 

Q: Can my child run with me? Do I have to register them/pay for them?
A: Of course your kiddo can participate! If your child stays in the stroller the whole race, you do NOT have to register them as a separate participant. 

Our rule is, if they are 6 years old and above and using their own two feet to participate in the race, then, YES, please register them. This is due to safety, participant counts for city permits, and calculation of materials needed for the race!

 

Q: Are skates, skateboards, scooters, or bikes allowed?
A: No

 

Q: Are dogs or other pets allowed?
A: Yes, dogs are welcome! For the safety of your pet and other participants, please keep them on a leash at all times.

Q: Where are the restrooms?
A: Portables are outside of the Pine Pavilion. There are no indoor restrooms available.

 

Q: Where is the Finish Line?
A: For both the 5k and 2-mile courses, it is located next to the Pine Pavilion

 

Q: Is there a lost and found?
A: Yes, go to the Pine Pavilion.

 

Q: What happens if there are poor weather conditions?
A: The race will NOT be postponed or cancelled due to weather unless something SEVERE is happening such as lightning storm, tornado or white-out conditions.  If that is the case, announcements will be made on our Facebook page and on the race webpage in addition to racer email communication.  99.9% of the time, the race will go on as scheduled.

 

Q: What if I need to report a lost child or if a lost child is found?
A: Accompany child or person reporting lost child to the Pine Pavilion. A ‘Incident Report Form’ will be filled out for anything significant that Event Staff or ECPD need to know about. Staff with radio will be contacted along with ECPD.

 

Q: If someone needs First Aid, where do they go?
A: For minor issues, send them to the First Aid Tent near the Pine Pavilion. For major issues, call 911.

 

Q: Do you give out Finisher's Medals?
A: No, we do not have finisher medals at Strides for Hope this year.

 

Q: Are there prizes for the run?
A: • Largest team (Corporation, School/Organization, Friends/Family)
     • Top fundraiser
     • Top 3 male finishers (5k)
     • Top 3 female finishers (5k)

 

Q: Where can I make a donation to Hope Gospel Mission?
A: You can drop off cash or checks on race day at the Pine Pavilion, or make an online donation by clicking here.
