COVID-19 Rock the CASA Update
Recently, Texas A&M University has made the tough decision to cancel all Family Weekend events for April 17th-19th.
In compliance with Texas A&M and with the best interest of our participants' health, we will be making Rock the CASA 5K this year virtual.
We believe that making our event virtual is the best option for the safety and health of our participants and chapter while also supporting Voices for Children.The virtual 5K will take place Saturday, April 18th on your own time. We believe that not only is our 5K a way to support our philanthropy, but it is also a chance to provide a bit of exercise and fun to your social distancing.
By participating in the virtual 5K, you will be pledging yourself to run or walk a 5K on the day of the original race in the convenience of your own town and space. You can choose to complete the 5K in whatever way you would like; running, biking, swimming, roller blading, doing it on an elliptical are just a few ways you could choose to participate, but be creative and have fun with it!
Here you can switch your registration to indicate you will be joining us in the virtual 5K, and we will continue to post updates here as they come. If you have not registered yet, we would love to have you register and join us in supporting CASA!
On our website, it is indicated that we do not allow refunds for the race. Please know that your registration fee goes directly to CASA - Voices for Children, and we are not keeping any of that money for race expenses. Race t-shirts had yet to be purchased, and we will not be buying them for race participants.
While we cannot host the physical race or silent auction, we still have, and are pushing, several different fundraising opportunities in the meantime. Donations at this time are greatly appreciated and of great importance. We cannot express our gratitude enough to those who have chosen to donate and to those who plan to. This time has brought confusion, hurt, and fear to many, and we are determined to bring some hope in the midst of it all to this deserving cause.
This has come as a shock and is a quick change to make, so we appreciate your patience while we make the appropriate changes. For now, we would appreciate your help in spreading the news and asking your friends to join you in the 5K!

Description
Theta Rock the CASA 5K and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk is an annual event that is held at the Kappa Alpha Theta House in College Station every spring. All proceeds from the event benefit two non-profit organizations, CASA-Voices for Children and Theta Foundation. On race day each year, the Kappa Alpha Theta House is packed full of friends, family, and people from the community who are all ready to have fun and give back to amazing causes. Last year we raised over $90,000 and had over 1,000 participants! We hope to have a similar outcome this year! Below is the information for this year's race! We can't wait to see you on April 18th!!
