El Paso's premier multisport event, Eagle in the Sun Triathlon has introduced thousands to their first triathlon. Now entering its 12th year, the race is a favorite for new and experienced athletes alike and welcomes relay teams in addition to individual competitors.
Eagle in the Sun Triathlon begins with a 400-meter swim in a 50-meter pool. Participants then ride on a mostly flat 12-mile out-and-back bike on the Border Highway and run 5K run on the new Playa Drain Trail.
All participants will receive a moisture-wicking race shirt, athlete bag, water bottle, swim cap, post-race snacks and drinks, an interactive race day Expo, chip timing, and more! Finisher medals for all participants!

Eagle in the Sun Triathlon is USAT-sanctioned; USAT rules apply. All athletes must be members of USA Triathlon to compete. If you do not have an annual membership, you may purchase a one-day pass for $15 during registration.
Athletes must be 12 years old or older to compete in the individual Triathlon or Aquabike category. Children under 12 may participate as swimmers or runners on relay teams, or in the Duathlon, but they may NOT participate in the cycling portion of the triathlon.
Entry fees are non-refundable and may not be transferred to another person. Participant may defer fee and apply it to another Race El Paso event within the same calendar year. Contact Race Director by email at gg@raceelpaso.com to request deferral.
Men who weigh 220 lbs or more can compete against other men in thier age group or against other men who weigh 220 lbs or more ("Clydesdales"). Men who weigh under 220 lbs do not qualify to race in the Clydesdale division.
Women who weigh 165 lbs or more can compete against other women in thier age group or against other women who weigh 165 lbs or more ("Athenas"). Women who weigh under 165 lbs do not qualify to race in the Athena division.
Relay teams may consist of 2 or 3 persons who together complete the entire triathlon (swim-bike-run). The first team member to sign up creates a team with a team name that other team members can join.

Aquabike participants will swim 400 meters then bike 12 miles. Their time will end when they return to transition from the bike portion, and they have the option to walk to the FINISH Inflatable to cross the finish line and get their finisher medal.
