Welcome to the 45th Annual Bayou City Classic 10K and 5k Fun Run

March 5, 2022

The 45th running of the Bayou City Classic 10K, Texas' oldest 10K race, will take place on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 8AM (Hand-Cycle/Pushrim start is 7:50AM). The 5K Fun Run/Walk will start at 8:20AM (Hand-Cycle/Pushrim start is 8:15AM).

We are back in 2022 with an in-person event at our usual location in the heart of downtown Houston (Hermann Square). We are also offering a virtual option for those who wish to participate with the same purpose and enthusiasm from afar.  This is a family-friendly, all-inclusive event. We invite EVERYONE to participate.  Wheelchair/Pushrim participants are welcomed and encouraged. Full race details at

100% of the net proceeds from the Bayou City Classic are donated to the Houston Parks & Recreation Department to improve our city parks and preserve our trees. This non-profit event is organized by the Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA), an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote running as a competitive sport and a healthful exercise.   The race has donated over $250,000 for the Parks over the previous eight years!

The IN PERSON option will take place ON race day, Saturday, March 5th, at Hermann Square by City Hall.  Depending on conditions and number of participants on race day, we may start in waves to increase social distancing.
