Unfortunately, the central Texas area has experienced in the last couple of weeks some large spikes in the number of COVID19 cases. Travis County (where our race is located) has extended stay-at-home orders at least through August 15th. As a result, we believe it is in the best interests of our athletes, volunteers and spectators to cancel the 2020 Lake Pflugerville Triathlon.
We will be processing refunds the week of June 22. Refunds will be 100% minus the fee charged by RunSignUp, as those fees are not recoverable.
We thank you for understanding, we hope you stay safe and healthy, and we hope to see you next year.
Additional race information can be found at http://www.LakePflugervilleTri.com.
*** Note the NEW date change! We have made the decision to move the race to August 30th, as a result of all the concerns related to the pandemic. For the concern of our athletes, we don't feel that you have a sufficient amount of time to prepare for a July race, given the extended stay-at-home orders.
You will feel right at home at this family-friendly event. it is a race you will enjoy with a fun course at a great location. This is a fantastic venue for all levels of athletes, whether you are a beginner or have completed numerous triathlons. For the intermediate and elite, it is a great opportunity to set a new PR.
In 2020, athletes will have a choice of sprint or olympic distance triathlon, sprint aquabike, or can choose to participate in an olympic-distance OR SPRINT relay. Yes, we are adding the Sprint distance Relay for 2020!
Sprint distances - the swim is a 500-meter loop, the ride is on county roads for a 13-mile bike ride with enough low rollers to keep it interesting. Racers will finish up with a 3-mile run around the lake on a flat crushed granite trail with water stops along the way.
Olympic events consist of two laps of each triathlon segment.
We are very excited to have the Austin Tri Cyclist team managing the bike course again in 2020.
