Description
Description
The San Felipe Shootout is an exciting race format with a very unique twist on racing. The event will consist of three separate races; the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon. The SHOOTOUT (triple) combines all races back-to-back-to-back with the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon for a cumulative time. The faster you run, the more break you have between events. Shootout runners must start each race at the gun.
SFA State Park is just a short drive from Houston. Experience the Nature of Texas’ first colony, nestled on the banks of the Brazos River, the park provides the opportunity to get up close to nature. Located 30 minutes from the outskirts of Houston, this quiet and peaceful park is a nice escape from busy city life. Come out for the day and enjoy 6 miles of hiking and biking trails, a picnic area, geocaching, or spend the night, with a wide variety of campsites, including pull-through 30 amp full hook-up RV sites, screen shelters, and tent campsites. Camping can be reserved directly with the online park reservation system.
More info will be updated on the event website as we get closer to the date: https://www.trailracingovertexas.com/shootout

Free Kids Race
Kids, 12 and under, not only get free park entry but can join in the trail fun with our Kids Kilometer.
Kids must be registered on RunSignup, by their parent/guardian, and check-in at packet pickup for a free bib. Parents are welcome to join their kids on course. Note that parents who are not registered for their own event, will need to purchase the event/park pass.
The non-timed event will start right after the half-marathon (10:30 AM) as it follows the same first 1km mini-loop. Kids will gather at the timing event for the half marathon start to receive instructions. Once the half-marathon runners have cleared the start, we will have a separate start for the kids' event at ~10:31 AM.
