About Our Cause

Image

Diabetes affects how the body regulates blood sugar and, without effective management, can lead to serious complications involving the heart, kidneys, eyes, and nerves. Tools like continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), insulin, and other diabetes technologies can be essential for safely managing the condition, yet cost and access remain significant barriers for many underserved families.

Walk the Circle takes its name from the Blue Circle, the global symbol of diabetes awareness, representing the community coming together around diabetes. Through the 5K, we aim to raise awareness while expanding access to the medical resources individuals need to manage diabetes and live healthier lives.

About The Fineprint Guide

The Fineprint Guide is a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to expand access to essential medical and assistive devices for underserved individuals and families throughout the Greater Houston community.

Through community fundraisers, charitable initiatives, and local partnerships, we turn community involvement into tangible healthcare resources for those who may otherwise struggle to access them. From donating AAC devices to supporting health and sanitation initiatives, our work is driven by the belief that essential healthcare resources should be within everyone's reach.
