The Annual Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble, Tampa’s Thanksgiving Day 5K & 1 Mile Walk takes place on Thanksgiving morning each year, beginning and ending in front of Benchmark International Arena, 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa 33602. The 5k begins at 7am and the 1 mile begins at 8:15am. 5K awards will be held at approximately 8am as well.
The 5K race is chip timed, the 1-mile walk/run is not.

To ensure an on-time race start, race day registration and bib pick up are not available!
Yes, you can pick up for others or have them pick up for you. The person picking up bibs must bring a copy of each person's registration copy or photo ID.
Parking is available in the Pam Iorio Parking Garage ($10 flat fee) and the Fort Brooke and surrounding parking garages ($2/hour). Limited street parking is available in the downtown Tampa area. Gear-check/hold is not available on race day.
For safety reasons, except for participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger, no wheeled vehicles including but not limited to scooters, rollerblades, rolling shoes and bicycles are NOT allowed on the race course. Participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger will line up in a designated start corral.
Yes! However, they must be registered on the race registration site. There is a $5 fee to register dogs, this will cover the cost of the bandana they must wear on race day. The capacity for dogs is 150 and registration will close once that number is met. For safety reasons, dogs must be on a non-retractable leash not to exceed 6’. Owners must clean up after them and will line up in a designated start corral.
All virtual participants get a t-shirt and medal which you will need to pickup at one of the pre-race packet pickup events. You may run/walk your race at your own time/location between the Sunday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after Thanksgiving. You may post your results during that time on our registration site: Upload virtual results here.
You do not need to register your child for the race if they will ride in the stroller and remain in the stroller while on the course. If your child likes to get out and walk with you periodically, please register your child. Children do not need to remain in strollers on the plaza at the Arena. Only registered participants receive a shirt and finisher medal. PLEASE PLAN TO LINE UP IN THE BACK so our non-stroller racers can safely navigate the course.
