FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
GENERAL
Do I have to register in order to participate in the walk? Yes, we want to know you’re walking and need every participant to sign a standard waiver through the official registration process. We strongly encourage participants to register online prior to attending the event.
How do I register children, family members and others online? To register other participants, begin your own registration and enter your details. At the end of the registration process, you will see a “Add Another Registrant” button; click this button to add other participants, including children or other dependents for whom you have the legal authority to sign our liability waiver.
Where do the funds go? All funds raised through the Teal Power Race and Walk advance the mission of the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati. The OCAGC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization; therefore, all donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
TEAMS
How do I form a team? Forming a Team is easy! If you are a new participant, follow the prompts during your registration. If you are a returning participant, log in with your user name and password, then choose to start a new team or restart your team from last year.
How can my company participate in or sponsor the Teal Power Race and Walk? We’re counting on companies to be leaders in the community and the fight against ovarian cancer. Companies can participate in the event in many ways including becoming a sponsor (see BECOME A SPONSOR), having a booth at the event (see RESERVE A BOOTH), forming a team, and donating goods or services for the raffle baskets.
What responsibilities does a Team Captain have? Team Captains are the heart of the Teal Power Race and Walk! As a Team Captain, you’ll be asked to recruit family, friends and co-workers; help them fundraise; keep the team motivated; organize your team for their team photo; and have fun fighting for a great cause! We’ll provide you with a customizable team fundraising webpage to get you started.
How many people should be on my team? There is no required number of people for each team. Tell your friends, family and co-workers why you are participating and ask them to join you.
How do I get my offline donations to show up on my team fundraising page? Donations can be made offline by submitting a check using the paper donation form (see PAPER DONATION FORM). Indicate on the form your team name to receive credit for the donation. Donations typically take one to two weeks after receipt to show up on your team page.
