Course Information - Saturday Races
The Louisiana Marathon weekend is a multi-race event, offering five different distances. Saturday gets started at 8am with our Louisiana Marathon 5K and Louisiana Quarter Marathon races, and is followed by our Kid's Marathon 1-mile race at 10:15am. Sunday is our Marathon and Half Marathon, both of which start at 7am. We also offer a Déjà Vu’ award for runners who want to run on both days.

If you’re not quite ready for a half but looking for more than a 5K, then the Louisiana Quarter Marathon is perfect, it's a 10K with a little lagniappe. This Saturday race starts with the Louisiana Marathon 5K race, leaves the downtown area and runs through one of Baton Rouge’s oldest, most historic neighborhoods on oak tree-lined roads.

From first timers to competitive runners, this race is a great option for everyone. As part of the Louisiana Marathon weekend of races, you can experience running in a unique setting featuring a flat, fast and fabulous course. Both the start and the finish are visually stunning as you begin and end the race under the shadow of our iconic state capitol. Regardless of your age and experience level, the Louisiana Marathon 5K promises to be a memorable race you don’t want to miss.
Louisiana Blue Kid's Marathon - 1 Mile

Looking for an exciting way to get the whole family active? The Louisiana Blue Kid's Marathon’s mission is to instill running as a part of a healthy lifestyle in our kids at an early age, which is why we have a 1-mile kids race. It's the perfect distance to introduce kids to running.
*All courses are very well marked. There are mile markers for each distance event, directional signs for course splits and TURNAROUND signs for course turnarounds. Course splits and course turnarounds will be manned with an operations staff member who will typically be making announcements on a megaphone. Course turns are indicated with traffic cones and usually (not always) have police units, volunteers and/or staff members. Traffic on courses is managed by our law enforcement partners, but no roads are promised to be closed to all traffic. Runners should be aware of their surroundings: the course, applicable signage, vehicles, staff, volunteers, and police officers.
*Runners are required to complete the Quarter at an average 20:30 minute per mile pace and the 5K at an average 43:30 minute per mile pace. Kids have a total of 30 minutes to complete the kids mile.
