The Louisiana Marathon is a USAT&F Certified course (LA23010DJR) and an official Boston Qualifier route. It boasts one of the highest BQ rates of all marathons since it features a fast, flat, runner-friendly path through the lakes, along the river, around downtown, on the university campus and in historic neighborhoods. Friends, family and enthusiastic spectators line up along the course in various spots to cheer on the runners, making for a spirited marathon.
The Louisiana Half Marathon - 13.1 Miles
7:00am Start – Sunday, January 19, 2025
Start Location: 660 N. 4th St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802
The Louisiana Half Marathon is a USAT&F Certified course (LA23009DJR). The half marathon is the fastest growing road race distance and we’ve got a great one. The start uses the same course as the full marathon, leaving downtown Baton Rouge and making its way around LSU’s scenic campus and University Lakes, before splitting off from the Marathon and heading back to the downtown area for a scenic finish that runs towards the iconic state capitol.
*All courses are very well marked. There are mile markers for each distance event, directional signs for course splits and TURNAROUND signs for course turnarounds. Course splits and course turnarounds will be manned with an operations staff member who will typically be making announcements on a megaphone. Course turns are indicated with traffic cones and usually (not always) have police units, volunteers and/or staff members. Traffic on courses is managed by our law enforcement partners, but no roads are promised to be closed to all traffic. Runners should be aware of their surroundings: the course, applicable signage, vehicles, staff, volunteers, and police officers.
*Runners must maintain a 13:45 minute per mile pace to be allowed to continue the full marathon and at 18:20 minute per mile pace to be allowed to continue the half marathon. Runners not able to maintain this pace will be picked up in a SAG vehicle and moved forward on the course or brought to the finish line.
