Rosemary Kathryn Myrick was born on September 5, 1985. She was a 2004 graduate from Alcona Community High School. She loved running track, playing soccer and volleyball. In 2002, she helped her high school relay team take first place in the 800 meter relay event at the MHSAA Division 4 State Finals. Her college years led her to Ferris State, Northern Michigan and finally to Baker College where she graduated with her degree in Criminal Justice. We all could not have been more proud of her accomplishments. Her greatest was her daughter, Adeline Rose.
Adeline was born in January of 2015 at 26 weeks gestation. She weighed just 1 lb. 12 oz. A micro preemie. A true miracle. <3 Rosie spent months beside her little fighter at Sparrow Hospital and lived at the Ronald McDonald house nearby.
In May of 2016, we all got news that would change our lives forever. At just 30 years old, Rose was involved in a fatal car crash that would take her away from us all, leaving behind her then, 16 month old daughter. It is important that even though Adeline may not be able to grow up with her mother, that we are able to provide memories that will preserve and honor the dedicated and incredibly beautiful mama Rose.
Rosemary was the best mother, daughter, sister and friend any of us could have been blessed with. We hope through this event, Adeline will recognize how much love and support surrounds her through the memory of her mother.
In the past, the fundraiser has consisted of a tubing trip down the Mighty Au Sable River out of Hunt’s Canoes in Oscoda, MI. As of Sept. 2017 and two years of the fundraiser, $1,100 has been raised. Let’s get together, share stories, laughs, tears, have fun, and watch Adeline blossom as the years pass by. Lord knows, they pass fast!
