Come join us in Dahlonega on Saturday, Feb 17, 2024 for the 3rd annual WIMPY MILE RUN.
The WIMPY MILE is a chip-timed, gentle downhill mile run. The course proceeds from downtown Dahlonega (Hancock Park, just off the Dahlonega square) down Wimpy Mill Road to finish at the Dahlonega Kayak Launch Park.
This USATF-certified unique downhill mile course promises a strong opportunity for a PR for serious runners, and it also allows for a fun, easy pace, jog or walk, for participants of all ages and abilities. Families are welcome, as are dogs on leashes.
All registered finishers earn a distinctive finisher medal. Top 3 finishers for women and men will also be recognized. There will be refreshments and snacks at the finish area. Buses will be available for those who desire a lift back to the start area.
Last year's event was well-attended and we expect this popular annual event to grow rapidly. All proceeds from the WIMPY MILE go to the Dahlonega Sunrise Rotary Foundation, a 501c3 organization which donates 100% of the funds to a wide variety of local charities.
