FUNDRAISING TIPS & STRATEGIES
Make the most of your participation by raising funds to support Their Place and help foster inclusivity for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)! Here are some effective ways to reach your fundraising goals:

1. Set a Goal & Share Your Why
Set a realistic and inspiring fundraising goal (e.g., $250, $500, or more!).
Personalize your story—share why you're participating and how Their Place impacts individuals with IDD.
Post your goal on social media and your fundraising page to keep supporters engaged.

2. Start with Friends & Family
Reach out personally—send a text, email, or call friends and family.
Encourage them to donate early to build momentum.
Pro tip: Ask for small contributions first ($10, $20) to get the ball rolling!

3. Utilize Social Media
Share your fundraising page on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X.
Post updates, photos, and videos about your training or why you support Their Place.
Use hashtags like #RunForInclusion #TheirPlace5K #IDDAwareness to reach a wider audience.
Create a Facebook Fundraiser—it’s easy to set up and integrates directly with donations!

4. Get Creative with Fundraising Ideas
Host a Mini Event – Organize a bake sale, trivia night, garage sale, or fitness challenge to raise funds.
Employer Matching Gifts – Ask your workplace if they’ll match your donations to double the impact.
Themed Giving Days – Encourage donations on special days (e.g., $5 Friday, $10 Tuesday).
"Give Up to Give Back" Challenge – Skip a daily coffee or dining out and donate the savings!

5. Form a Fundraising Team
Rally a group of friends, co-workers, or family members to fundraise together.
Friendly competitions (e.g., who can raise the most?) make it fun and engaging.
Set team fundraising milestones and celebrate achievements!

6. Thank Your Donors & Keep Them Updated
Send a quick thank-you message or email to every donor.
Share your progress and express how their support makes a difference.
Post updates and tag donors in shout-outs on social media!

🎉 Every dollar raised helps Their Place create opportunities for adults with IDD to thrive in a supportive, inclusive community. Thank you for being a champion of inclusion!
