About Carolina Tiger Rescue
Why another 5K? For the cats, of course! Your participation in this virtual fun run will support our care for the animals and ongoing educational programming.
Carolina Tiger Rescue is a 501(c)(3) federally-defined, GFAS (Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries) accredited nonprofit wildlife sanctuary dedicated to saving and protecting wild cats in captivity and in the wild. The sanctuary is located just east of Pittsboro, NC, and is home to approximately 50 animals, including tigers, lions, leopards, ocelots, caracals, bobcats, and more. These animals live out their lives in large, natural habitats, with a whole carcass diet, daily care, and enrichment activities. Carolina Tiger Rescue serves as a conservation education center, providing educational tours to nearly 19,000 people annually. Demand for educational tours continues to increase each year, along with interest in our other educational programs. We hope to see you at the sanctuary soon!
