Registration/Sponsorship FAQ
SHARE A FUNDRAISING PAGE LINK (This is the easiest way!)
- Every race participant will have a personal fundraising page (you will receive a link in the registration confirmation email), which can be shared with family, friends, and neighbors.
- Student participants will also have a personal fundraising page (again, a link is included in the registration confimation email).
EVENT SITE SEARCH
- You can also point people who want to sponsor to this page on our event site, where they can search by individual Train Up Fundraisers (students and adults) OR search for students by Grade Teams.
- Each Grade Team page will have a list of registered students, and donors can click on the student to be directed to their page.
Note that donors will make a separate donation transaction for each person they wish to sponsor.
As in past years, our students will be in friendly competition between grades for some fun prizes! So, encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to donate through a students individual page instead of a general donation so that their class gets credit. We cannot transfer donations for credit after the fact.
- most amount donors per grade
- total amount raised per grade
Absolutely! Go to Become a Train Up Fundraiser on our event site, and create an individual fundraising page.
- For students, be sure to select their corresponding Grade Fundraising Team so their grade will get credit for any funds raised.
- Otherwise, click "Fundraising, not running" as your Fundraising Team. (This is just for classification purposes; you're still an individual fundraiser.)
Once you've completed registration, your individual fundraising page will automatically be created. In fact in the confirmation email you receive, there will be a link to the page that you can share with family, friends, and others who you want to invite to support you.
If you would like to personalize the page, go to the site navigation Donations + Fundraising < My Fundraising. When you click on View Fundraiser, you'll see several drop down options, including Edit Fundraiser.
Feel free to personalize the url link to your page, your message, your fundraising goal, etc.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- If you want your page to be searchable on our event site, DO NOT check the box "Hide from public lists."
- Similarly, unless you leave the box unchecked on your child's page, they will not show up on their Grade Team Page, and others cannot search on the site in order to donate to them.
- For concerns and info about student privacy, refer to the FAQ in this section.
- BEFORE YOU SAVE ANY CHANGES AT ALL to an individual fundraising page, be sure to double check (near bottom of page) that the GRADE TEAM dropdown accurately reflects the student grade of your child.
- Otherwise, they will be removed from their Grade Team page, and their donations won't be accounted for within the team.
- If you are an adult, it matters less that you are in a category. However, we have created groups like CHA Parents and Grandparents, CHA Staff and Faculty, Heritage Families and Alumni, and Friends of CHA for your use.
For fundraisers that are under 13, a default fundraiser name (ex: T.Sutton) with automatically be created in order to comply with COPPA regulations. The profile photo for all fundraisers also defaults to a first initial only. Parents/guardians can opt to upload an image to replace the default profile photo, but it is not required.
Absolutely! If you were around last year, we rolled our annual fall fundraiser, Coinucopia, into the launch for our three-year Train Up Campaign. This year, we're working to get to the finish line of our overall goal, and the Train Up 5K and Fun Run will help get us closer!
We're exciting about the CHA Family coming together to raise funds, and we'll once again have a friendly competition among grades for some fun (and delicious) prizes.
Although we've tried to make registration as simple as possible given our unique setup, if you have questions, consult this article in CHA Central if you have questions about the registration process. You can also use the form on the event site landing page to submit a question.
