5K Waiver
Participation in the Diploma Dash 5K is potentially hazardous. By participating in this 5K the individual has full knowledge and assumes all risks associated with this event or event activities including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, contact with other participants, effects of the weather, traffic, road, and course conditions, high heat, humidity, illness, personal injury, bodily injury, and death. Running or walking can be potentially hazardous activities and, therefore should not be entered into unless medically able and physically trained. Participants shall abide by any decision of a race official relative to the participants ability to safely complete the event. The University of Texas at San Antonio, the UTSA Alumni Association, and all event sponsors, agents, volunteers, police, board members, employees, assignees, or anyone acting for or on their behalf are not responsible for any claims of liability arising from participating in this event including negligence or carelessness of others. Photographers will be taking pictures and recording participants, including adults and children, in this event to be used for legitimate purposes including promoting the event online or in print materials. This event is rain or shine, and the entry fee is non-refundable.
I acknowledge that the nature of the Activity may expose me to communicable diseases, including, without limitation, COVID-19. I also acknowledge that UTSA cannot, and does not, guarantee a communicable disease-free environment. By using UTSA facilities and/or participating in an Activity, I understand that there is a risk of contracting a communicable disease and hereby voluntarily assume any such risk. I also agree to refrain from participation in UTSA facilities, programs, and services when I am exhibiting symptoms of or have reason to believe I have been exposed to or have been diagnosed with a communicable disease and to abide by all University policies and procedures related to communicable diseases, including, without limitation, COVID-19.
