The 4th Year 5K is a longstanding UVA tradition presented by the Peer Health Educators. Continuing our tradition of empowering and connecting the UVA community, this year, we are back in person to run/walk to raise awareness about alcohol safety and bystander intervention. After our virtual race last year, we can’t wait to be back on South Lawn on November 13th, 2021, and start the race at 8:00 am!
Our expanded mission for this race is to bring the community back together for a safe and inclusive race! All proceeds from the race will be donated to the Leslie Baltz Art Study Fund to support a 2nd or 3rd year art history or studio art major.
See you on race day!

The 4th Year 5K is a beloved UVA tradition that has historically occurred on the morning of the last home football game. The race is held in memory of Leslie Baltz, a UVA student who passed away due to high-risk drinking. The race aims to create a positive tradition where students can safely come together and make lasting memories. We are excited to honor Leslie Baltz, and all proceeds will be donated to the UVA Leslie Baltz Art Study Fund.
