Fast Before the Feast 5K
Ferguson Fast Before the Feast 5K (VIRTUAL)
Description
Ferguson Cares and Peninsula Track Club present the Fast Before the Feast 5K. This popular event is back and held on Thanksgiving Day. The out and back course is run on the scenic roads of Mariners' Museum Park. Race day participation will be capped at 800. There is no limit for the virtual race. Race proceeds will benefit the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank. Your participation and optional donations will help those in need.
Ferguson Virtual Option
Ferguson associates, family and friends can participate in this event virtually by registering and running or walking wherever they are Thanksgiving week. All virtual registrants will receive a Fast Before the Feast race shirt in December, and each registration still contributes 50 meals to families facing food insecurity. Associates can also register for the in-person Fast Before the Feast 5K on Thanksgiving in Newport News, VA.
To guarantee a shirt in your size for the in-person race, sign up by November 7, 2025. The race does fill up and THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. Deadline for the virtual race is November 27, 2025 with no registration limit.

Packet Pickup

Wednesday, November 26, 2025, 10 AM – 5 PM
This is a drive-through packet pickup. You will remain in your vehicle. We encourage everyone to pick up their packet on this day to avoid the rush on race day. You may have someone pick up your packet for you. Please provide your race bib number when picking up your packet.
NOTE: This is not the location of the race start. The race start is across from Warwick High School.
Friends and Family Discount
Register 4 or more participants at the same time and receive $5 off per registrant.
Race T-shirt
Each participant that registers by November 7, 2025 will receive a long-sleeve, ring-spun soft cotton blend shirt in their requested size. Participants that register after November 7, 2025 will receive a shirt based upon size availability.
Unclaimed shirts will not be mailed.
Virtual participants that register by November 27, 2025 will receive a long-sleeve, ring-spun soft cotton blend shirt. These shirts will be bulk mailed after November 27, 2025. Please ensure that your mailng address is correct when registering.
Chip Timing
Chip timing will be used to score the event. Your time will begin when you pass through the starting line sensors. The top ten overall male and female finishers will be determined by the gun time, not the chip time.
Results
Final results will not be posted until Sunday, November 30.

Refund Policy
Since the vast majority of race costs are incurred prior to a race and are non-refundable, we do not issue refunds for the event.
In the event you are unable to participate, you have two options:
1) Defer your entry to next year's race. Deferrals will be required to pay for their shirt for next year's race.
2) Transfer your entry to another runner. This must be done by November 7, 2025.

With more than 500 members, Peninsula Track Club serves the Virginia Peninsula and surrounding communities. Our goal is to promote and encourage long distance running and educate the public to its benefits. Founded in 1955, the PTC is the oldest running club in Virginia and is currently involved in over 35 events annually, ranging from 5Ks to ultramarathons.
