A10K Training

Open to ages 16+.

Description

Plan to join the Richmond Road Runners Club's Advanced 10K Training (A10K) to achieve that sub-60 minutes personal record in a 10K race during Spring 2024.

A10K Training will start Saturday, January 27, 2024

This 12-week program is designed for intermediate to advanced runners with a goal of completing a 10K race in less than one hour.

In support of our runners' ambitions, A10K Training provides a defined range of weekly volume for both the intermediate or advanced runner supplemented with detailed pacing guidance for tempo and track workouts. A10K group training includes Saturday morning tempo runs and Tuesday evening track sessions.

New for 2024: For those wanting more miles for their Saturday run, there will be the option to run an extra 2-mile or 4-mile route BEFORE the 8:00 AM start for the tempo run.

A10K participants should plan to show ups for the first scheduled run (Sat. January 27) with a respectable mileage base - at least 15-20 miles per week for 1-2 months before the program starts. The first week of the plan calls for 20-25 miles or running. Going from 0 miles to 25 miles in the first week of training is strongly discouraged.

2024 Head Coaches: Jamie Ledwith & Cameron Hopper

All details are tentative and subject to change.
