Description

We are excited to be back in Carytown for the Carytown 10k! The Richmond Road Runners Club's Carytown 10K offers a flat, fast and certified (VA09019RT) course that is run mostly on Cary Street and Grove Avenue. The race will start and finish near Cary Court in Carytown. There will be a free Kids Run (1/4 mile) before the start of the 10K.

There is also a virtual option for the Carytown 10k that you can participate in if you cannot attend the race in person. Submit your virtual results here through Sunday.

Both events are RRRC Grand Prix (GP) events for 2022. RRRC GP participants receive a race point for posting a time for either event. RRRC GP participants in the in-person race will receive place points based on overall and age group finish times.

NOTE: Details provided below about packet pick up and race day activities are tentative and subject to change. Registered participants will receive updated information the days before the race.

The 10K (6.2 mile) course starts and finishes on Cary Street west of Cary Court. The course is a figure 8 that uses Cary Street Road, Floyd Ave, Thompson St., Libbie Ave, Grove Ave, and Nansemond St. The course will be coned off for runners to use part of the right lane. The roads will be open to traffic. There is a two hour limit for the course.

Two water stops will support runners at the intersection of Cary Street and Westmoreland as well as at Grove and Oak Lane. The water stops will be hands-free and cup-less. Bring your own cup or bottle.

This is a road race conducted under the rules of USATF and RRCA. In consideration of the safety of all participants, the following are not allowed on the course during the race: baby joggers, baby strollers, animals on or off leash, skateboards, inline or roller skates, or bicycles. The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, RRRC encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of the Carytown 10K.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY. BE ALERT, WATCH FOR TRAFFIC & PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FELLOW RUNNERS, COURSE MARSHALS, AND POLICE.
