The Richmond Road Runners Club's Carytown 10K offers a flat and course that is run mostly on Cary Street and Grove Avenue. The race will start and finish near Cary Court in Carytown at 8am. There will be a free Kids Run (1/4 mile) before the start of the 10K.
There is also a virtual option for the Carytown 10k that you can participate in if you cannot attend the race in person.
Both events are RRRC Grand Prix (GP) events for 2023. RRRC GP participants receive a race point for posting a time for either event. RRRC GP participants in the in-person race will receive place points based on overall and age group finish times.
NOTE: Details provided below about packet pick up and race day activities are tentative and subject to change. Registered participants will receive updated information the days before the race.
The 10K (6.2 mile) course starts and finishes on Cary Street west of Cary Court. The course is a figure 8 that uses Cary Street Road, Floyd Ave, Thompson St., Libbie Ave, Grove Ave, and Nansemond St. The course will be coned off for runners to use part of the right lane. The roads will be open to traffic. There is a two hour limit for the course. The course will have a detour this year due to the construction at Cary and Libbie.
Two water stops will support runners at the intersection of Cary Street and Westmoreland as well as at Grove and Oak Lane. The water stops will be hands-free and cup-less. Bring your own cup or bottle.
