RVA Trail Day with RRRC

Sat June 2, 2018 Richmond, VA US 23221 Directions

Come out and explore the trails of the James River Park System on RVA Trail Day. JRPS and Friends of the James River Park have organized RVA Trail Day on National Trails Day®. On your own or with an experienced trail runner, venture on one or more of the North Bank, Texas Beach, Buttermilk, Belle Isle, and Forest Hill Park trails. Find the beauty of nature and the physical challenges hidden in the heart of Richmond along the James River.

Volunteers with the Richmond Road Runners Club will be at the Pump House Drive trailhead starting at 8:00 AM to lead group runs/power hikes. Volunteers will answer your questions and offer advice on exploring the trails. Fluids and snacks will be available. There is a water fountain at the trailhead parking lot and portable toilets will be available.

Group trail runs or hikes will start at the following times:

  • 8:00 AM   6- to 7-mile trail run
  • 9:30 AM   4-mile trail run & 4-mile trail power hike
  • 10:30 AM   6- to 7-mile trail run

Groups will be led by experienced trail runners/hikers at a "comfortable" trail running pace, which may mean a blend of running and hiking.
