Lake Conditions Update 6/28
As promised we will continue to update our water quality. The results below are from Test the week of 6/25
E.coli levels are very low at the seven locations tested around the lake, including the water at the beach.
No potentially harmful algae was detected. There is some planktonic algae (primarily Tabellaria sp.) in the lake which gives it a green color.
Water clarity is good at 6 - 7 ft.
Current lake water temperature is 83 - 89 degrees Fahrenheit.

Special Event Modification
Special Announcement
At The Fawn Lake Triathlon we are always looking for a way to stand out from the crowd. We also believe FAMILY is our core mission. To that end we have added a new scoring category. The FASTEST FAMILY at the FAWN LAKE TRIATHLON. Just register two or more FAMILY MEMBERS in the Sprint Race. We will use Cross Country Scoring (Top 2 in each family) to determine the Fastest Family at the Fawn Lake Triathlon Award
It has come to our attention that some 10-11 year olds are interested in the longer distance of the 12-15 Race. We are modifying the 12-15 race to allow 10-11 the option of entering either race. (Note: This adds an additional award group in the race (Now 10-11, 12-13, 14-15)

We are expanding our Age Group Awards
I can say without a doubt this is the best run local Sprint triathlon I’ve been a part of. The fly over was exceptional and the course is great. Everyone should give this race a tri!!! (Chris)
We love the race! Our kids did it the last two years and have already been asking when it happens next. I think it’s well organized and a fun environment for kids and adults. (Jess)
Overall, it was a great race experience and I'm excited to return in 2024. Both me and my daughter (6 yoa at the time) competed. I typically participate in much bigger races, so this was a really nice change of pace and definitely felt like a family atmosphere. The bike course was really well paved and the run was enjoyable as well...Thanks again for putting on such a great race! I've already added it to my race calendar this year and will use it as my final tune up before Nationals. See you then!(Josh)
Along with all the positive reviews we received many helpful suggestions....Sprint Wave Seeding, Youth Bike Start, Youth Signage. All of your concerns will be addressed. Thanks for giving us the time.

Our Charity Partners:
100% of our race proceeds go to these worthy causes:
Families of the Wounded Fund:
These Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines have a long and very difficult road ahead. Most are young, and their lives and the lives of their families have been forever changed. Regardless of their gender, race, or ethnic heritage, these wounded American heroes and their families clearly understand the high cost of freedom. The purpose of the fund is to raise money and assist these families while they are here in Central Virginia. They have been doing this since 2005, and for your generosity, we are most grateful.
The Brisben Center:
The Brisben Center's mission is to provide temporary shelter and equip residents for employability to resolve poverty and obtain housing.
Micah Ministries:
Micah is uniquely organized as a collaboration of churches working together under one nonprofit umbrella. Their congregations have been involved in caring for unhoused neighbors for nearly 40 years.
The Wilderness Community Church Food Pantry:
The Wilderness Community Church food pantry serves everyone from low income families, single parents, senior citizens, unemployed individuals, disabled veterans, working poor, and anyone else in need of our assistance.
Squishy Face Crew:
Squishy Face Crew is organized around connecting foster families and adopters in the Fredericksburg area and beyond with dogs and cats who have found themselves in a shelter.
