The Bling!
All participants will get a unique die cast finisher medal. Check back here and follow our social media for when we reveal this years' award.
There will be a wide range of people in the race. We expect that half of our participants will be walking, many people will take over an hour to complete the course. Getting out there for fun and exercise is the #1 goal.
We celebrate all our finishers no matter their pace.
We also have three different ways that our fastest runners can compete with one another.
- The Final Mile Sprint
- Age Group Awards.
- The Overall Championship
Final Mile Sprint
We also have a unique contest on course! The last mile is a steady downhill and we expect some runners to go all out to post some blazing fast speeds. We will have timing mats at the 2.1 mile mark (1 mile to go) and will be tracking and giving an award to the fastest male and fastest female on that mile.
Splits will be published for all on the event results tab allowing for some friendly competition with you and your friends even if you don't have the speed to bring home the big prize.
Age Group Awards
If you are one of the top three males or females to finish within these age groups, your name will be called out at the main stage after 9:15am and you will collect a special prize for your efforts.
Overall winners will be decided by gun time/first to cross the line. Age group awards are based on chip time which means only the time you spend on the course so if you are at the back of the pack at the starting line, your time doesnt start until you cross that starting mat.
Age groups will be:
0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-99
Overall Champions
Overall winners will be decided by gun time/first to cross the line and will be recognized with awards at the main stage after the event.
Winners will have bragging rights as the fastest person in Villa Park for a full year.
