Track your time and distance for each distance of #VirtuallyMiamiFamous by using your favorite device/app and be sure to keep a record of each in order to submit your results. You may track your distance with a number of different phone apps (RaceJoy, Strava, Garmin Connect, Nike Running, etc.), your fitness watch (Apple Watch, Garmin, etc.), or your favorite fitness device (treadmill). It is not required to track your run with the RaceJoy app.

  • Print your bib for fun photos! You may download it by going to your Profile and clicking on "View Digital Bib"
  • It’s best to do a short practice run a few days before your run using the app and/or device you'll be using so that you're ready for your #VMF run day!
  • If using your phone, be sure to check out these tips to preserve your battery life
  • If you have a fitness watch, consider using both an app and your watch for more peace of mind
  • If you're running on a treadmill, be sure you're not using a GPS based app (Do not use RaceJoy)
  • Results must be submitted between January 10, 2021 and February 3, 2021

We are providing you with the option to use RaceJoy as part of the official race experience for the #VirtuallyMiamiFamous.

Download the RaceJoy mobile app in advance to ensure proper phone setup. Invite your friends and family to track you and send you cheers!

Some key RaceJoy features include:

  • GPS Progress Alerts: Receive continual progress updates as you complete your goal.
  • Live GPS Tracking: Remote spectators can track your progress live in a map view. You can also track others.
  • Send-a-Cheer: Receive supportive audio cheers from remote friends & family.
  • Automatic Results Submission: Enter your race-assigned bib number to automatically submit your finish data for real-time scored results.

To use RaceJoy, you must carry your phone and activate tracking on the day you complete your race. Do NOT use RaceJoy if running on a treadmill.

Due to the manual nature of submitting your results, we request that you uphold the integrity of our sport and submit only results that are honest and accurate to the best of your ability. Race staff reserves the right to request proof for any result submission.

At the time of the event, it is important that you follow Covid-19 guidelines from your state and local public health officials. While we do encourage athletes to complete each distance (5K, Half, and/or Full) of their virtual challenge in one effort, you are certainly able to break up the distance if you prefer or need to in order to comply with guidelines. The results will only allow for one submission, so if you opt to break into multiple runs/walks, you'll need to add your times together to submit at one time.
