General Volunteers

Start Finish Line Aid Station - General

Details

Tasks include: Setup check-in tables and tents, parking control, runner check-in, food prep and service.

There will be several hours between the race start and the race finish. Round 1 is 5-8am and round 2 will be 10am - 630pm. We encourage volunteers to get some rest, get some food or go out for a run of their own during this time.

There is a brief section where the the outbound and return portions of the course overlap. We need marshals there to make sure the runner's make the turn. The two main junctions are on the Midland Trail where the Unchained Spur connects and the four way junction with Midland/Bacon Bits/Unchained.

Course Marking and Sweeping

Course Marking - Approximately 10 Mile Sections

Details

Markers will be responsible for placing markers about every 1/4 of a mile. Markers will be required to have a GPS device with the course downloaded to insure accurate marking. Sections will be assigned closer to race weekend.

Sweepers will be in charge of making sure the race "leaves no trace." This means collecting all course markers and any stray trash left behind. Sweepers will also make sure all runners make it safely to the next aid station.
