Early Packet Pick-Up - Nov. 24th Medium Priority

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

Tuesday, Nov. 24th

Time Frame - 9:45 AM - 3 PM

Check in participants when they come to pick up their race packet. You will assign each participant their bib, hand them their shirt if they get one, and confirm their info.

Packet Pick Up - Day of Race High Priority

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

Time Frame - 6:00 AM - 7:15 AM

Check in participants on the morning of the race. Assign bib numbers and hand out shirts if the participant receives one.

Location: FSW Punta Gorda Campus Building "O" Cafeteria.

Thursday, November 26th

Course Monitors / Encourage Runners High Priority

At least 30 more volunteers needed.

Details

You will be stationed at various points along the course to help direct participants around the course, cheering them on as they pass by and making sure they are following the course correctly.

Time Frame - 6:00 AM - 9 AM (or until all runners/walkers finish)

Location

FSW Punta Gorda Campus Building "O" Cafeteria.

Meet with Jill Symmonds, Volunteer Coordinator, on the screened porch when you check in on the day of the event. You will receive your instructions and the location where you will stand to cheer on and direct runners/walkers.

Water Station Monitor - Halfway Point High Priority

At least 4 more volunteers needed.

Details

Set up tables in designated area near building "J". Fill cups halfway with water and hand out to participants as they pass by. Place trash cans beyond the water station so participants can toss cups in as they pass by. Make sure no cups are thrown on the ground. Clean up the area when finished- tie up trash bags, fold the table, and leave both on the sidewalk. Return unused items to the volunteer check-in area.

Prior to the race beginning, stand outside by the cafeteria entrance and direct people to race registration and bib pickup.

Time Frame - 6:00 AM - 9 AM (or until the last participant passes this station)

Meet with Jill Symmonds, Volunteer Coordinator, on the screened porch when you check in on the day of the event. You will be directed to the water station and told what needs to be done.

Water/Finisher Medal Setup and Finish Line Attendant

At least 5 more volunteers needed.

Details

Help retrieve water and stack it off to the side of the finish line. Slice open about 1/2 of the cases. Hand out water to participants as they cross the finish line.

Retrieve finisher medals from the Habitat truck and put the boxes by the finish line. As participants cross the finish line, hand out a medal and congratulate them.

At the end of the race, place remaining water and medals in the Habitat truck.

Refreshments and Awards Set Up Medium Priority

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

Retrieve refreshments from Habitat truck and set them up on tables. Assist participants with selection. Clean-up:-tie up trash bags and place bags and folded tables along the sidewalk when finished. Place remaining items in Habitat truck and offer any food leftovers to volunteers.

Lay out awards and medals in an orderly fashion using the table on the stage. Fold up the table when finished and leave it on stage. Place any remaining items in the Habitat truck.
