October 9, 2026

5:30 pm CDT - 7:00 pm CDT (Full)

Details

At crucial points along the course, there are course marshals whose job is to alert runners of any potential hazards, guide them through the route, keep an eye out for the safety of both the course and the runners, ensure that everyone is playing fair, inspire the athletes, and oversee any non-race pedestrian or bike traffic where the race course intersects with other paths.

Please note: As a course marshal, you may be assigned to critical intersections and often work alone. If you prefer a buddy system, only one person should sign up for the position. Volunteer hours can be verified later if needed. It’s crucial to fill each slot based on course requirements, and pairing is not guaranteed for those who sign up. If someone is under the age of 18, it is recommended that a parent or guardian accompany the minor.

Oktoberfest Games – Tear-Down Crew

October 11, 2026

3:00 pm CDT - 4:00 pm CDT (At least 1 more needed)

Details

Help clear the Oktoberfest games area in Barth Park once competition wraps up. You’ll start by breaking down and stacking game equipment—kegs from tossing and rolling events, stein‐holding stands, costume contest props, and the stump station. Move the straw bales from around each game back to the staging area, making sure they’re neatly piled for reuse. Gather signage, cones, and any loose décor, and load everything onto carts or trucks. Pitch in with picking up stray cups or debris so the park grounds look tidy.

Details

Can’t volunteer during festival weekend? You can still help in important ways. These off-site roles are flexible and can be done on your own schedule. If you're a school parent hoping to count this toward your 2-hour on-site requirement, you must contact Mrs. Rivera first for approval. Off-site roles require at least 4 hours to qualify. Tasks may include collecting raffle or auction donations, helping with sponsorship outreach, hanging signs around town, dropping off 5K flyers to businesses, or coordinating soda donations through school and church channels.
